What happens if a prospect doesn't accept my connection request?

If a prospect doesn't accept, follow-up messages won't be sent — this is a LinkedIn limitation. The sequence can only continue once they're connected.

How Spear handles pending requests

  • Up to 500 connection requests can be pending at one time
  • The 32 oldest requests are automatically deleted daily to keep your account safe
  • Pending requests that are never accepted are cleared after approximately 3 months

What you can do

  • Wait — some prospects accept days or weeks later
  • Retarget — unaccepted prospects can be added to a new campaign later
  • Withdraw manually — go to the prospect's LinkedIn profile and remove the pending request if needed

💡 LinkedIn shows the original send date on the request, so prospects can always see when it was sent.
