Prerequisites Checklist Before Onboarding (MA)

Before your Customer Manager can activate Spear, make sure the following are ready.1. Define your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile)

Your ICP tells Spear who to target. Prepare:

Company level:

  • Headcount range
  • Revenue range
  • Target industries
  • Excluded industries

Title level: List of job titles to engage (e.g. CISOs, VP of Security, Compliance Managers).

Broader filters work better at first. You can narrow as the system learns from your approvals and denials.

2. Clarify your territory

Have ready:

  • States, regions, or cities you cover
  • Whether territory splits are by location or industry
  • Exceptions (accounts outside your region but assigned to you in Salesforce)

3. Share your account list

Send your Customer Manager an Excel or CSV file with:

  • Company domain
  • Headcount
  • Revenue
  • Internal prioritization (Tier 1/2/3, A/B/C, etc.)

4. Set up Slack access

Your company will create a shared Slack channel with the Spear team. You'll use it to:

  • Send your account list
  • Share your LinkedIn connections.csv
  • Request campaign changes
  • Communicate with your Customer Manager day-to-day

5. Prepare your LinkedIn credentials

Make sure you have access to:

  • LinkedIn email and password
  • 2FA verification codes

Log out and back in on your phone before onboarding to avoid delays.

6. Export your LinkedIn connections

Spear needs this to avoid suggesting people already in your network.

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy
  2. Select Data Privacy
  3. Click Get a copy of your data
  4. Select Download larger data archive
  5. Wait for LinkedIn to prepare the file (up to a few hours)
  6. Download the ZIP → send connections.csv to your Customer Manager via Slack

👉 How to download your connections list

Quick checklist

  • ICP defined (titles, industries, headcount, revenue)
  • Territory clarified
  • Account list ready (Excel or CSV)
  • Slack channel set up
  • LinkedIn credentials + 2FA access confirmed
  • connections.csv exported (or in progress)
